about

Welcome.
We're thankful you're here.

I'm Amber. I'm the wife around these parts.

First came love. Then came marriage. Then we decided a dog and blog would be less work than a baby (and carriage).

The only part of this blog that's ours is the name and life behind the scenes. Otherwise, it's all about hearing from me about our faith, adventures, and wedded bliss.

May this space be a place rich and beloved for you. Find a cocktail of love, hope and grace here. Humor will always be the little umbrella in your drink.

Kick off your shoes and stay a while.

As a child I read all of Aesop's fables with great excitement and attention to the morals at the end of each tale. I grew up looking for the snippets of truth in all of life's messes. Our greatest moral, the grandest of truths is this:
Life's done best in friendship and in mess.
Our faith saves in life's stress.
Always love, nothing less.

It seems most appropriate to throw a picture of Mr. Thomas and me in here for good measure.

A few things you might care about before you get to reading:
  • I dig the marriage I share with this man, though I'd be okay skipping his stinky laundry in our hamper.
  • Every month I write a love letter to Jason from the prompt for the Letter Link-Up. Of course, I'd be over the moon if you joined.
  • You'll see our pets: Hazel the boxer and Guillermo the Sulcata Tortoise around here every once and a while.
Speaking of Hazel, you'll find yourself loving all the spunk that comes from her pouty face. She's more princess than pet, more diva than dog, often found wearing a flower and carrying a ball. You can get a heaping serving of Hazel over on our Instagram
And this is Guillermo. He also goes by Mo. He's a gluten-free vegetarian with a taste for crabgrass, roses and milkweed, though he's yet to meet a scrap from our compost pile he doesn't love. It takes some warm sun to bring him out of his shell, but good luck after that.
Now that you're here, where do we start?
Let me suggest one of my favorite posts about our marriage.

Or wishing to know my deepest convictions (which include coffee drinking habits and hair dos), because those can be found here.

Fan of coffee? Because I am and my monthly coffee dates are a great way to get caught up on what's happening in our lives.

If none of those suit your fancy, let me point you in the direction of my creative process or the way going ad-free on the blog worked best for us.

  11. Where has your blog been? GET IN MY LIFE. When you wrote "I've got tattoos, love to say shit, and have never said no to a glass of wine. More than all that, I love God." in your guest post at Happy is a Choice, I thought I was reading my own words. You rock!
