speak up: growth

May is here. And with it comes flowers and margaritas (hola, Cinco de Mayo!) and another rendition of the Speak Up Link-up!

As always, you'd be doing a grand thing for yourself to listen to the gorgeous wisdom that my dear Annie has to share. Girl's a gold mine and after her mission in Jamaica, she's extra wondrous.

The quote that I shared (terribly paraphrased) from C.S. Lewis is this:
"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself."
And, for you, my link-loving friends:

For June, the topic is If We Were on a Picnic...

Yep, total change from the usual one word format, but think about the popular coffee date posts (like these ones) and yes, let's picnic! See you the first Friday of June for some outdoor eating action!

Like always, some gorgeous words to get you started on June's link-up.

And, finally, since it's Friday and #morethanaframe is such a sweet, beautiful light in my life, I wanted to share with you a few of the frames that are especially gorgeous.

Next week we're going to be framing our fears (and probably addressing bravery in there too). Please join us in celebrating that our lives are more than any frame could capture!

  1. Love, LOVE the C.S. Lewis quote. Such a simple way of stating God's enormous love and his plans for us. Also - LOVE the community of #morethanaframe. I love scrolling through the photos every day and getting to know everyone better and everyone lifting everyone else up - all of it, it's so great.
(PS You added an extra "Y" to my name! It's okay though, you aren't the first :))

  6. Growth can absolutely be painful and hard! So many times change is good, but we don't always like it. We get out of our comfort zones and what we like and are used to and making that adjustment can be so hard. But I love how you talked about sometimes we need to take a break or reward ourselves because sometimes we just have to sit back and relax and enjoy the moment.

Feel free to share with me... In fact, your words do more for me than mine for you.
